About Us

Newcastle Veterans Hub has been established to support current and former members of the UK Armed Forces, including their families and children.

Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space where veterans can come together to connect, talk, network, and enjoy a warm breakfast in the company of those who understand their journey.

We work to complement, not compete with, other organisations offering similar support by fostering collaboration and avoiding overlap. Our aim is to signpost those in need to the right help and services, build funding streams through charitable initiatives, and strengthen ties with our local community.

Together, we stand in support—side by side.

Newcastle Veterans Hub launch

Newcastle Veterans Hub was officially opened on 17th  May  by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant Ms Lucy Winskell.

Help us reach our goal

Meet John, a co-founder of Newcastle Veterans Hub and a former soldier with a deep commitment to supporting his fellow veterans. John served with distinction in The Light Dragoons, deploying to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan before leaving the military as a Sergeant in 2011.

Currently, he's working as a contractor in Iraq, but his passion for the veteran community remains his driving force.

John is embarking on a solo challenge to raise crucial funds for the Hub. First, he'll undertake a non-stop, roughly 81km tab from Bamburgh Castle to Tynemouth Priory. Just a few days later, he'll tackle Ben Nevis the highest mountain in the UK.

Every penny raised from John's efforts will directly benefit Newcastle Veterans Hub, ensuring it can continue to operate every two weeks. These vital funds will provide essential support for verified homeless veterans, supplying critical items like blankets, sleeping bags, and food for those sleeping rough. Additionally, the proceeds will fund trips to places of military significance such as the Arboretum or even Normandy, offering unique experiences for veterans.

Monies will also cover transport costs for those in the military community going through tough times, or provide immediate assistance like food shopping.

John's goal is to raise £1,000, but he's hopeful that with your support, even more can be generated to make a tangible difference in veterans' lives.

"Don't let the bad days win" is John's motto, and he invites you to get behind him and Newcastle Veterans Hub to help make life more comfortable for those who have served.
